BONE WARS got mentioned in a New York Times article, and the result has been a gratifying spike in orders. Thanks, everyone!
The article, by top-notch science writer Cornelia Dean, is for subscribers only, but it's pretty interesting. She describes various humorous takes on the Kansas evolution controversy, including the eldritch and terrible Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Here's another review of Bone Wars, by Matt Celeskey of the Hairy Museum of Natural History. This is the dinosaur fan's take on our game. Mr. Celeskey was among the first people to order Bone Wars from our company, and we're all glad he's happy with it.
Reviewer Shannon Appelcline has posted his review of BONE WARS on RPG.Net. We call this one the "tough but fair" review; he raises some valid points. This review is definitely written for hard-core gamers. BONE WARS was intended to be what Shannon calls a "Beer and Pretzels" game, and we fly our mug-and-snack bowl flag proudly.
One thing which amused the crack Zygote Games design staff: Shannon's rating our game as a "2" for difficulty. We happen to agree, but one of the most common complaints we hear is that it's too complicated!
If playing E.D. Cope and O.C. Marsh in a game of BONE WARS doesn't satisfy your paleontological urges, try reading this graphic novel about them. The other science comics from GT Labs are also top-notch and we recommend them highly.

Earlier this month we put on our pith helmets and flew to Chicago to launch BONE WARS at the Chicago International Toy and Game Fair.
The CHITAG organizers were very helpful and supportive. Mary Couzin and her team of interns did a lot to make our convention enjoyable. The only thing they couldn't control was the weather, and attendance at the show was lower than previous years because lots of Chicagoans were out enjoying a stunningly beautiful Labor Day weekend. Fewer people passing our booth meant we didn’t sell as many games as we’d hoped to, but our demos showed us that people who like BONE WARS like it a LOT and get very excited about it.
We also learned that lots of children make "eww" faces when told they can sign up to win dinosaur droppings. Then they sign up anyway.
We met a lot of nice people showing their own toys and games at the convention. Erik Smith of On The Line was across the aisle from us, and was very helpful and friendly. At times he was joined by his wife and adorable baby.
We didn’t make it to the BodyWorlds exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry because it was sold out for 30 hours straight! So we drowned our sorrows in sushi. You can get a lot of sushi for a very reasonable price in Chicago if you know where to look.
Well, it's in stock. Those of you who have already ordered BONE WARS, your orders will ship out Sunday. We've got ONE TON (907.18 kilograms) of games in our office ready to head out into the world . . . Oh! And it looks really really good!
